I can’t believe I made it through unscathed, though undoubtedly, the emotional scars will take a while to heal. It was certainly a very close call. For a few moments there, I almost thought, “This is it! This is how it all ends.”
But then, somehow, in some way, from some recklessly valiant cell of my body, I was able to summon up that last ounce of courage which was probably my salvation… and his undoing. I suppose all those self-defense lessons from my teenage years finally paid off. Although it wasn’t what you’d call a ‘fair fight’, I was up against an opponent of dinosaur proportions. I swear, I’ve never seen a lizard that huge!
Honestly, if he thought he could come and live under my roof, and make it difficult for me to move around my own house without first snooping around each damned surface, and scare the living daylights out of me whenever he wished…….. Well, I showed him who’s the boss!!
This is in response to this week’s Trifecta writing challenge, using the word ‘Dinosaur’ meaning one that is impractically large, out-of-date, or obsolete. You can also check out the other entries at:

I reallyliked the twist at the end of this! Great story.
Thank you! I’m glad you enjoyed it 🙂
Well done, wish I had that courage. As of now, lizards are winning at my side.
Yeah i know… Lizards are such scary, not to mention filthy, creatures. I did manage to drive this one away bt now i’m perpetually living in the fear that its going to take revenge one way or another :p
we keep our lizards enclosed 🙂 As much as our children would wish otherwise, I am happier with glass between us LOL
I wholeheartedly approve!!! At least this way they can’t have a free run of your house. A smart idea i’d say 🙂
Yikes, that would have had me running in the other direction. I really liked that used the correct definition, but in a completely different way. Thanks for linking up. We hope to see you back tomorrow for the new challenge.
Normally i would run away too… but it was a desparate situation calling for desparate measures!! Thanks for reading 🙂
Hehehe…even the dinosaur lizards can be sneaky little guys. Lizards don’t bother me at all, but snakes….oh they scare me something awful 🙂
yeah… they’re sneaky and so quick! snakes…oh my! i would be petrified of them, fortunately we don’t have any snakes around where we stay.
